Pro Gardeners: What’s Your Go-To for Bathroom Breaks at Work?

0
Asked By GardenGal99 On

I'm a female gardener working for private clients, and I often find myself needing to pee as soon as I arrive at a job, which can be pretty inconvenient. Some clients are okay with me using their bathrooms, but others aren't, and for holiday houses, there's usually no one home to let me in. Plus, being muddy and dealing with spiders makes me hesitate to ask to use their facilities. I work long hours and drink a lot of water, so quick stops at public restrooms aren't cutting it. By the time I get home, I'm practically bursting. Any tips or tricks that I might be missing?

When I worked with trees, we’d often use the chip truck as our restroom... which is definitely a wild solution! Just make sure you have a tarp to cover the entrance if you're crouching down. Lots of options out there, just gotta get creative!

Wait, you did that right in the chip truck? ? That’s a bold choice!

A female urinal could be a game changer! I use something called a P-mate, and it’s super useful. Might feel a bit funny at first, but once you get used to it, it’s a lifesaver!

Wait, is that the thing they use for scuba diving? I had a weird experience helping a relative with one once!

OMG, I just googled it—could I actually do that? Sounds kind of daunting!

Finding a nearby gas station or fast food joint has worked for me in the past! Some places are usually really accommodating, especially if you grab a snack while you’re at it. Other than that, just try to stick to secluded spots when you can, though it can be tricky with municipal work and high-visibility clothing!

Honestly, I’ve heard of people squatting over a bucket in their truck with a tarp for privacy if absolutely needed! Not ideal, but hey, it’s a backup plan. Also, it helps to scout out hidden spots beforehand if you can. And don't stress too much about security cameras seeing you; they’re mainly for safety and not to catch you doing your thing! Try to use gas stations or public restrooms when you’re nearby, and definitely don’t hesitate to go there while you’re on the clock!

Haha, I can totally vouch for that! I had some great spots mapped out for a while but eventually wound up finding more dignified solutions.

A tarp sounds hilarious but might be a game-changer! I’ll have to keep that in mind while on the job!
