Recommendations for a Waterproof Display for Custom Hot Tub Controller

Hey everyone! I've put together a custom controller for my hot tub using esphome, but I've run into a problem: the display panel keeps failing due to water getting in. I'm looking for suggestions on a small to medium-sized display that can handle both nighttime and bright sunlight visibility. It also needs to be waterproof and budget-friendly, capable of withstanding up to 40°C with high humidity when the lid is down. The current display measures around 40x50mm, so something in that range would be ideal. Thanks for your help!

Have you checked out Balboa displays? They might have options that could work for you.

I started with a Balboa setup, but I switched to a custom esphome solution.

Most LCD screens aren’t designed to be exposed like that. You might want to look into protecting it with a piece of clear acrylic. Sometimes you can find leftover pieces behind sign shops or even take apart an old LCD TV for some material.

Great idea! I was hoping for a self-contained display though, as I want to avoid any extra work in sealing it up. An old TV might be too big for my needs.
