I'm looking to buy a froe specifically for chair making and for riving leg stock for my tables and chairs. Normally, I don't mind spending a bit more on quality tools, but since I've just had my first child, my budget is a bit tighter these days. Any recommendations on budget-friendly options?

You might want to consider a spokeshave too; it can get you similar results for shaping wood. Just a thought!
If you're up for it, you can either find a really cheap froe or even make one yourself. It could be a fun project!
The Lee Valley froe works well for the price. If you're looking for something even cheaper, Lehman's and Tractor Supply both have similar options that are about $20 less. Definitely worth checking out!

That's an interesting idea! I might give that a shot instead.
