Hey everyone! I'm relatively new to using Milwaukee tools and power tools in general. I currently have a basic socket set at home for simple tasks like oil changes and lawnmower repairs. As a full-time police officer, I've been helping a lot of motorists with tire changes this summer. While I can manage with just a standard 4-way lug wrench and the jack that comes with most cars, the hot weather has made me realize I need some better tools. I'm looking to invest in a good impact driver and a set of impact sockets to keep in my patrol truck for efficiency and safety. Any recommendations on a solid kit? I really appreciate your advice!

I’ve used my M12 Stubby for brakes and lug nuts, and it’s an awesome tool. But honestly, the mid-torque impact will definitely get the job done faster and more efficiently.
I'd recommend going for the 1/2" mid-torque impact wrench, model 2962. If you pair it with a set of lug nut sockets, you'll be all set for those tire changes. It's a solid option!
Also, a tip—try using a breaker bar to loosen the lug nuts first. I learned the hard way that just relying on the impact can sometimes lead to issues.
I personally use a 3/8 M12 Stubby for my Honda Pilot, and while it works great for me, if you’re helping out with various vehicles, the M18 mid-torque would be a better choice for versatility. And thanks for going out of your way to help others; truly appreciate your dedication as a police officer!

Absolutely! The 1/2 mid-torque is definitely the go-to for this kind of work.
