I'm curious about the pros and cons of reconditioned tools compared to brand-new ones. We all know that new tools come with warranties and that fresh-out-of-the-box feeling, but is it looked down upon to buy reconditioned tools? Have any of you had experiences with them? Would you recommend going the reconditioned route?

I think reconditioned tools can be a steal! They usually get fixed up properly, and if the price is right, I won’t hesitate to buy them. That said, I prefer to go new for tools I'm really excited about and know will get a lot of use, but for most tools, reconditioned is usually a great deal.
As far as I'm concerned, reconditioned tools are often just as reliable as new ones, especially if they retain some warranty based on the serial number. I’ve purchased a few myself, and they’ve held up just fine for me!
When it comes to reconditioned tools, they often get a thorough check-up and repair, so they can be just as good as new, minus a few cosmetic blemishes. Just be cautious since some sellers might hide imperfections behind the 'reconditioned' label. However, if you search wisely, you might uncover new tools for the same price as reconditioned ones.
