Regretting My Tiger Stripe Bamboo Floor – Can I Paint It?

Hey everyone, I recently installed this tiger stripe bamboo flooring and honestly, I really don't like it. I know you can't really refinish it, but is painting an option? Here's a photo of what it looks like: https://www.chinabambooindustry.com/uploads/201816658/tiger-stripe-bamboo-flooring53155000580.jpg

I get that painting seems like a solution, but it might be a shame to cover it up. Have you thought about using something like Minwax Polyshades? It’s a wood stain with polyurethane that could help tone down those harsh colors, plus it’ll give you a nicer wood grain look. Good luck!

Totally agree, those colors are pretty intense.

Thanks, I’ll check that out!

Sounds like you might be in a tough spot with that flooring. Honestly, the best route might be to uninstall it and try to sell it at a discount on a marketplace. It’s a lot of hassle, but it could save you from future headaches with painting or other fixes. Plus, if you choose new flooring, you can really pick something you’ll love this time!

Yeah, I hear you. I just wish I didn’t have to go through all that work again if there’s an easier fix.

Before you rush to paint, maybe try putting some furniture in the room or adding a rug? Sometimes those touches can help the flooring blend better and make the space look nicer. In the pic, it seems to lead to an outdoor area, which might help too!

I've tried a bunch of things. Unfortunately, it only looks decent when the room is empty.
