Hey everyone! I'm pretty handy and have tackled some DIY projects before like mounting TVs and installing lights, but I'm not very experienced with plumbing. I'm looking to remove a bathroom tub to make space for a his-and-hers vanity. How tough is this job really? What should I prepare for, and any tips on where to start would be greatly appreciated! You need to be ready for some heavy demolition! Breaking the tub apart with a sledgehammer is a method a lot of folks use. Just make sure you're well protected—eye and ear protection are a must since chunks of the tub can fly everywhere. Depending on its type, especially if it’s cast iron, you might need to go the extra mile and break it into smaller pieces to get it out. Better safe than sorry!
