I'm planning to swap out the chuck on my M18 Gen 4 drill (model 2904) because the current one has a really bad run-out. I found that the Rohm Extra 50 chuck has a torque rating of 80Nm, while my drill seems to put out around 150Nm. Is this okay? What are your thoughts?

I’ve replaced a couple of chucks with Rohm about eight years back, and they’ve held up great! I still use them now and then, and they really do save you from accidentally dropping drill bits on completed projects. Totally worth it!
The M18 Gen 4 drill, when set to the first speed, generally maxes out at about 45-50 ft lbs (which is around 60-67Nm) with a standard 6HO battery. You could maybe get a bit more if you're using a forge pack, but it's definitely not going to reach 150Nm. So, using the Rohm chuck rated for 80Nm should work just fine! And don’t forget about the unique 9/16-18 thread on the drill.
The Rohm chuck is actually a great upgrade. You're going to love it!

Thanks for the info! I read about the odd thread size in a few places. The pricing has also jumped recently, which is surprising—it was around $30-$40, and now it’s about $70.
