I have an old door with lead paint, and the window putty is in rough shape. I want to make sure I'm following lead safety guidelines while I mask up and try to replace the putty. Is it safe to do this, and are there specific fillers I should consider? Also, can I simply paint over the existing window putty with lead paint? Here's a link to a picture of the putty: https://imgur.com/a/Zsff2uo

If it's a door, I recommend taking it outside to work on it completely. Just ensure you're following all the proper lead safety precautions, and you'll be good to go!

That makes sense! I'm planning to wear all the proper gear while I chip the old putty out and replace it. I’ve never done this before, but I’m hoping it’s straightforward. Thanks for the tips!
