Reviving an Old Door: What Stain and Sealant to Use?

First things first, take the door off the hinges and remove all the hardware. Sand it down to bare wood to ensure a smooth finish. After that, wipe it clean with a damp cloth to get rid of any dust. You can then apply a stain of your choice (it's totally up to you!), followed by a couple of coats of exterior polyurethane, making sure to sand lightly between each coat. Don't forget to do the same for the trim.
