Hey everyone! We recently bought a house and are planning to renovate our bathroom. We're eyeing a ribbed bathtub for its unique look, but I'm having some second thoughts about its practicality. I know cleaning might be a pain, but I'm willing to deal with that. I'd love to hear from anyone with experience using ribbed tubs. Are there any other factors I should consider when deciding between a ribbed and a smooth surface tub? Thanks in advance!

Honestly, I look at ribbed tubs and think, 'Wow, that looks like a PITA to clean.' Just something to keep in mind!
Check out this master bathroom I remodeled with a similar tub! It turned out pretty nice. [link]
I was really tempted by a ribbed bathtub too, but ultimately went with a smooth one. My main concern was that the ribs might chip over time with regular use or accidental bumps. Plus, a smooth design feels more timeless and easier to pair with future bathroom updates.
The chipping is a good point. Definitely something to think about. Thanks!
Actually, it’s more about scratching than chipping since most are made from plastic.
