When you're working with tools that spin fast, like saws or drills, always remember how quickly they can cause harm. For example, if a tool spins at 20,000 RPM, in just a split second, it can make serious contact. So, never force the tool; guide it gently instead. It's also super important to stay focused and avoid distractions when you're in the shop.
Make sure to wear safety glasses at all times! I can't stress this enough. Even if you're just cutting a single piece of wood, grab those glasses. Also, avoid loose clothing or jewelry that could get caught in the machinery. Doing a simple miter cut? Be cautious and don’t put your free hand too close to the blade–give that blade plenty of space! And remember, working alone isn't safe; if something goes wrong, you want someone around to help.
Totally agree! That’s why I always let a neighbor know when I'm in the shop. Just having someone around can make all the difference.
