SawStop CTS Tripping GFCI: What Can I Do?

I recently purchased a SawStop CTS and I'm really looking forward to using it. However, I'm having a problem where the GFCI outlet in my garage trips about half the time I try to start the saw. Just as the blade starts turning, the GFCI protection kicks in. I've run other tools like my miter saw and shop vac without issues on the same circuit, so I'm confused. I planned to have an electrician check the wiring in my garage, but for now, I contacted SawStop support for advice. Initially, they suggested upgrading to a 20A GFCI outlet, but since I already have one installed, I replaced it and the problem persists. Later, they mentioned that SawStop tools may not be compatible with GFCI and AFCI outlets, which raises a concern for me. Did I just spend a lot on a saw that I can't use in GFCI-required areas? I also noticed the manual states that GFCI is necessary for cutting metals, which has left me feeling underwhelmed with the support response.

I've been using my SawStop Contractor Saw on a 20A GFCI circuit in my shop for over three years, and I've never had it trip the breaker. Have you tried connecting it directly to the GFCI with a 12-gauge extension cord to see if it still trips? If you're not comfortable with electrical work, definitely get an electrician involved. There could be a loose connection or an issue with how the previous electrician wired the outlets.

I'm already using a 12-gauge extension cord to plug it in, and the problem is still recurring. I will check for any loose wires again and consider isolating just the GFCI outlet to see if it eliminates the issue. Thanks for your input!
