I'm trying to figure out how to ship some batteries I bought in New York. I have two 9ah FlexVolt batteries and one 12ah FlexVolt battery. I couldn't take them on a flight because they exceed the watt-hour limit for carry-on bags. I went to UPS, and they assured me they'd handle the labeling. Now, three weeks later, they're saying my batteries are being held as undeclared hazmat and need to be picked up. Am I in a tough spot here? What can I do?

To ship those batteries, you'll need the red caps on them; that's a must. UPS might just be confused about the regulations. It sounds like they might think you need to have an LLC to ship lithium batteries, but that's not necessarily true. You might want to check their policy again or look into other shipping options if they insist.
Honestly, I wouldn’t declare what's inside. Just be quiet about it and ship it as is. You've got the caps, right? They should be fine as long as they’re packed well. Just be ready for some potential pushback depending on where you send them!
Make sure you double-check your details before shipping. There's talk that DeWalt batteries, with the right caps, can be compliant for carry-on. So if you did put caps on your FlexVolt batteries, they might just be mistaken about what’s allowed. Couldn’t hurt to ask around more to see if anyone else has flown with them!

Yeah, I mean, I’ve shipped batteries before without any issues. Just make sure it's properly packaged and check if there’s any extra paperwork needed.
