Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice about the Emerald green arborvitaes I recently had planted. The company left the burlap sack on the roots. I thought the burlap needed to be taken off to help the roots thrive? I'm really worried about the health of the trees since I invested a lot into this. Can someone clarify what's supposed to be done here?

Yes, all that burlap should come off to allow water and nutrients to reach the roots. It can rot, but it can also cause more harm if the string is left on, which may strangle the plants as they grow. Also, how many trees did they plant for you?
You definitely shouldn’t leave the burlap on! It’s supposed to be removed because if it’s left on, especially the strings, it can choke the roots as they grow. That’s a big red flag for sure! I’d suggest checking with the company about correcting this ASAP.
Right? This sounds like a huge oversight. They should have known better than to plant them like that!
They planted 14 trees, which makes this even more concerning!
