Should I Be Worried About Inhaling Potting Soil?

I was potting some plants using Miracle-Gro potting mix and accidentally inhaled a bit of the dirt while trying to blow off some excess soil from the pot's rim. I'm curious about how likely it is that I might get sick from ingesting such a small amount of soil. I've heard concerns about potential fertilizers or chemicals in potting soil, so I'd like to know if I should be taking any precautions.

Honestly, you’ve probably inhaled much worse things over time, like dust, fumes, or even from cooking. Unless you have a weakened immune system or allergies, you should be fine. Just keep an eye on how you feel, and if you're worried, check in with a medical professional.

It's extremely unlikely you'll get sick from inhaling a tiny amount of potting soil, especially if you're generally healthy. Potting mixes are designed for plants, and while they can contain fertilizers, a small amount isn't likely to cause issues for most people.
