Should I be worried about mold in my window AC unit?

I recently discovered some tiny black spores in my window air conditioner and didn't notice until now. I've been running it for a few weeks. I know it sounds silly, but I can't help but worry that these spores might be everywhere in my apartment. Should I be concerned about my health?

Honestly, you're probably fine! If you’re nervous, just have it tested for peace of mind and clean it out. Mold can be a pain, but most people’s bodies can handle a bit of it without any issues. Just keep an eye on it and try to improve airflow if you can.

You’ll be okay! Seriously, if a few tiny spots were dangerous, none of us would be around anymore. Just clean your AC unit with a bleach solution and it should be good to go!

Thanks for the reassurance! I’m definitely cleaning it ASAP.

Look, worst-case scenario is a bit dramatic. Sure, it's good to clean it out, but you’re not going to drop dead from a few spores. Just make sure you manage your air quality and you should be fine!
