Should I Build My Own Power Generator or Buy a Bluetti AC200L?

Hey everyone! I'm new to the whole power generator scene and looking for some advice. I'm considering buying a Bluetti AC200L along with some solar panels, which would cost me around $1700. However, I'm curious if it's possible to build a secondary power generator that could match the AC200L's performance as a total newbie. Any suggestions for DIY builds that might be comparable in power? Thanks for your help!

I found a great deal on Eco Worthy which offers a hybrid inverter and a 100Ah 51.2V battery for about $1199 after a coupon. It provides a whopping 5120Wh capacity compared to the AC200L's 2048Wh. Plus, it has a peak AC output of 5000W compared to the AC200's 2400W. If you're willing to invest a little time in assembling the parts, you'll get a lot more power for your money, and you can expand it down the line. Just think about how you'll set it up because you’ll need space for multiple panels!

Absolutely! DIY setups can save you a ton of cash. Plus, for $1200, this option is unbeatable compared to the AC200. Just make sure to account for the convenience of having a ready-to-go unit like the Bluetti.

Good point! Just remember, the configuration can get a bit complex, especially with the higher idle draw. You could need anywhere from 3 to 8 panels, depending on your setup.

The AC200L is definitely a solid choice, especially when considering the price of refurb units and locally-sourced panels. However, if you’re aiming for a large expansion down the line, a DIY system may offer better value. Just keep in mind that while you save on initial costs, you may need to invest more time and tools into building it yourself. The trade-off is that with DIY, you can really customize the setup to your needs, but it may not be as portable as an AC200.
