I'm thinking about getting a SawStop for its amazing safety features. I can currently afford the contractor model, but I'm contemplating whether I should purchase it now or keep saving up for the cabinet version, which costs $3000. Since I already have a Grizzly hybrid/cabinet saw, I prefer sticking with the cabinet style, but I don't want to wait indefinitely if the contractor saw is still a great option and provides those safety benefits. I'd love to hear any insights or advice from others who might have faced a similar situation!

I’d definitely save up for the PCS model. It's just a much sturdier setup with better dust collection, and honestly, it deserves the extra horsepower. The contractor saw is decent, but if you invest a bit more, you’ll get a significant upgrade. Plus, keep an eye out for used deals while you’re saving! That could save you a ton.
I agree that going with the contractor saw feels like a downgrade, especially since you're looking to sell your current saw. A cabinet saw offers way more features, better accuracy, and it’s safer too. If you can wait, a cabinet saw would definitely be the better investment in the long run.

Absolutely! I have the contractor SawStop, and while it’s good, I’m already planning on upgrading to a sliding table saw next because I see the value in the added safety and versatility.
