Should I Buy a New or Used Impact Wrench for My Car?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to expand my tool collection and I have a suspension job on my car coming up. Specifically, I'm interested in the M18 Fuel 1/2" impact wrench. My big question is whether it's worth it to buy a new one, or if I can go with a used one in good condition from Marketplace. Any thoughts? Thanks!

You should check out the 2967 model; it's pretty versatile. The torque is adjustable, so you can use it for different applications instead of going full blast all the time!

Are you referring to the 2967-20, 2967-21, or 2967-22 model? Just want to make sure I'm looking at the right one!

I've bought both mid and high torque impact wrenches used, and they've held up great. I got a high torque that's really old and has taken a beating but is still working like a charm. My mid torque was super cheap and has already paid for itself in saved time. I even built a custom compact model by grabbing an impact from a pawn shop and adding an anvil; it cost me less than half of what a new one would. I've generally had good luck with used tools, the only one that died on me was an old brushed grinder.

It really depends on the price! Sometimes, used tools are listed for too much. Make sure you check the new price first, and not just the list prices but actual sale prices you can find online. You might be surprised at the deals on new ones if you're patient!
