Should I Buy Broken DeWalt Tools for $100?

I found someone nearby selling a bunch of broken cordless DeWalt tools for just $100. The list includes 2 Brad nailers, a band saw, a 12-inch miter saw, a compressor, a sander, a reciprocating saw, a skill saw, and 2 drills. The seller hasn't provided details on how broken they are. I'm wondering if it's worth the investment. Even if I manage to fix just one tool, it seems like a good deal, right? I've never really used tools enough to wear them out, so I'm not sure about the likelihood of fixing any. I'm pretty handy with repairs that others have figured out, but electrical issues are beyond me unless they're obvious fixes. What do you guys think?

It really depends on how old or used those tools are! If they’re the newer models, it might be worth looking into. But if they’re older XRP versions, they might not be worth fixing. Just think, if they’re part of a broken batch, you might end up having to buy parts that are costly or hard to find. Sometimes that one small part can only be bought with a more expensive assembly, which is just a hassle.

Gotcha! I’ve barely used DeWalt stuff, so I’m not sure on the models—could you tell me more about the generations?
