I've seen this question pop up a lot, but I'm in the UK and I've noticed that prices from suppliers like Mouser, Digikey, Farnell, and RS Components can be pretty steep, especially for SMD kits. I'm looking to buy in bulk just one time for some personal DIY projects, like building a drone, an RC car, and a filament dryer. I know buying from Aliexpress means I might be getting lower quality, but I'm hoping to save some cash. Any advice on whether it's a risky move or if I should go for it?

If you're making stuff for yourself and are okay with the possibility of troubleshooting, then Aliexpress could work for you. Just keep in mind that not everything you get will be top-notch. But for personal DIY projects, it might be worth it especially since those kits can cost so much elsewhere.

That's a good point! Since I'm just doing it for fun, I guess I can take the risk. Thanks!
