Should I Buy the DCH133 or Stick with My DCD999 for a Fence Project?

I own a DCD999 and need to drill 28 holes (3/8") in my concrete patio for a privacy fence project. I'm considering if it's worth spending $150 on the DCH133, especially since I'd also need to store it and buy dedicated bits. I don't typically drill into concrete much, so I'm unsure if this investment is necessary. What do you think, savvy Reddit community?

For just 28 holes, I’d say your DCD999 will handle it just fine! You might even have the correct bit already. Plus, with the DCH133, you'd have to buy the bits separately, which can get pricey. I'd stick with what you have for this project.

I think I do have the bit, same size as the railing install. Thanks for the advice—thought I’d get a bunch of "go for the new tool" responses!

If you have a good battery and a PowerPack, the DCD999 should perform really well. It’s a strong tool, mainly replaced by SDS models for heavier jobs.

Thanks! I’ve got both an FV battery and a 5ah Powerstack ready to go.
