Hey everyone! I've been diving deep into discussions about the M12 circular saw, but I'm also considering the possibility of getting a track saw. I'm gearing up to make a bunch of radiator covers over the next few weeks using material that's no thicker than 15mm. I already own both M18 and M12 tools. Currently, I'm looking into the FCS442 (M12) with two 5Ah HO batteries and plan to build a jig for cutting lengths, but I'm really torn between that and the track saw option. While I could use my mitersaw for the framing part, I know my boards will need a different approach. Once I finish this job, I can't foresee any immediate projects for a track saw, although I didn't think I'd use my M12 caulking gun this much either! Any advice?

If it's in your budget, go for the track saw for sure; you'll find tons of uses for it down the line. Just avoid the Milwaukee tracks—they're overpriced. Check out Powertec or some budget options on AliExpress for tracks. They're really all made from similar materials, so you're good there!
Honestly, I'd steer clear of the 12V saws; they don't have the best power. But if you're leaning towards a track saw, that's a solid choice! They’re fantastic for getting clean cuts. Just a heads up, the new circular saw might also have its perks.
The Gen 2 M12 is light and convenient for quick cuts but lacks the power you'd want for more demanding jobs. I own both the M12 and a Festool track saw—honestly, the track saw is my go-to for precision. If you're on a budget, maybe consider the circular saw and build your own track system. If you've got the funds, the track saw is worth every penny!
What model Festool do you have? I'm curious about that!

Are you talking about the Festool FPS55?
