Should I Choose a Ratchet or a Right Angle Impact Wrench for My DIY Car Repairs?

Hey everyone! I'm diving into some DIY automotive work, mainly focusing on oil changes, brakes, and other simple repairs. I already have a 3/8 stubby for some tasks, but I'm debating whether to get a ratchet or a right angle impact wrench. I've heard mixed opinions, so I'd love to know what you all think would be best for my situation. Thanks for your insights!

I’d definitely go for the ratchet next! It’s super versatile and way more useful for a range of tasks compared to a right angle impact wrench.

I’m all for the ratchet over the right angle impact. You might not need the RA impact unless you have a specific job that requires it. For things like brake calipers, you can often manage with your stubby and a few swivel sockets. It’s just more practical!

Absolutely! The RA impact can struggle with tougher bolts, especially for brakes. Trust me, a beefier one would be ideal!
