I'm currently tackling some demolition tasks, primarily cutting out 2x4 studs and possibly chopping some nails. I've been using the M18 Fuel Hackzall and find it quite manageable because it's less bulky. However, I'm curious if sticking with the Sawzall would be more beneficial in terms of power and stroke length for my work. Any advice?

Definitely invest in some carbide blades! I've found they significantly improve performance, allowing my M12 Fuel to keep pace with a Sawzall when it comes to cutting. Having the right blade can make all the difference in efficiency and cutting power.
If you're primarily using the Hackzall for home projects, I think it's totally adequate. Sure, it might take a little longer compared to a full Sawzall, but it gets the job done. I've used mine for personal projects, including cutting through tough materials like a thick metal rail from a garage door opener, and it handled it fine. Plus, the one-handed operation is a game-changer for lighter jobs!
I've had great luck with my Hackzall for lighter tasks like cutting strut and electrical work. But for heavier demo work or cutting studs, the Sawzall really excels. It has more power and is better suited for tougher jobs. That being said, the convenience of the Hackzall for precision cuts is pretty awesome!
