I'm trying to decide between the Dewalt DCM571N 18V trimmer and the DCMST561 54V model. My garden is about 100 m² (approximately 1000 sq ft) and I only need something for trimming edges and around obstacles like my son's slide. There's a giveaway in Belgium and the Netherlands until the end of the month where you can get a free battery or pump with a tool purchase. I already have four 18V batteries, so picking the 18V trimmer and getting the free pump feels like a good deal. The 54V should be more powerful, plus I'd get a free 54V battery usable with my 18V tools. Although I lean towards the 18V for my yard size and pump value, I'm still feeling unsure and would appreciate any experiences with either model, especially from those who have used both.

I’ve used both the 18V and the 54V models. Honestly, the 54V is much more durable and has better performance in the long run, especially if you plan on keeping it around for a while. If you don’t currently have a blower you love, I’d recommend the 54V since it's also better at blowing debris, which is a nice bonus. Just so you know, switching the trimmer head for a Husqvarna T25 is a smart upgrade that can save you a lot of hassle!
I appreciate the feedback! I don't need a blower, but I’ll definitely look into that T25 head upgrade. What makes it a good pick?
