Should I Choose the Forge 6.0Ah or 8.0Ah Battery?

I'm trying to decide between the Forge 6.0Ah and 8.0Ah batteries for my drill and impact. I know they utilize different technologies, with the 6.0Ah being tabless and the 8.0Ah being pouch. They are almost the same size and weight, but the 8.0Ah is about $20 more expensive. Can anyone help me figure out which one would be better for my needs?

Don’t forget that the 8.0Ah offers better durability compared to the 6.0Ah in the M18 lineup. The design includes screws to secure the battery carriage, which reduces the chances of the case breaking if you drop it—definitely worth considering if you're using it on the job site.

So, are the 6.0Ah batteries held in differently? Just curious if there's a big difference in their construction.

I’d recommend going with the 8.0Ah. The size difference is minimal, and the 8.0Ah batteries have airflow slots on top which help with cooling when using a super charger. This could really extend the life of your battery while you’re working.

Honestly, I'd let your budget be the deciding factor here. The extra $20 for the 8.0Ah battery is worth it for the better value per Ah. The performance difference mainly comes down to runtime, but unless you’re really pushing the tools hard, like drilling tons of holes with a forstner bit, you probably won't even notice much of a difference. The weight difference is negligible too. Overall, I'd go for the 8.0Ah because of the value you get.
