Hey everyone! I'm a homeowner looking to dive into some DIY projects, and I'm considering getting an M12 stubby impact wrench. I already have a set of 3/8" impact sockets, but I'm pondering if I should stick with the 3/8" version or go for the 1/2" and use an adapter for my existing sockets. What's the best option here? Any thoughts on the torque and overall usability?

If you’re planning to use it mainly for DIY tasks, go with the 3/8". You’ll get the same torque as the 1/2" and it’s just easier to maneuver. Plus, it's just a perfect match for the sockets you already have. But if you need it for heavier-duty work, then the 1/2" might be your friend after all.
I'd recommend sticking with the 3/8" drive for the stubby! It fits into tighter spaces and still provides great torque—especially since you already have 3/8" sockets. Using a 1/2" drive with an adapter can be cumbersome, especially when you're swapping sockets often on bigger jobs.
3/8" all the way! The whole point of a stubby is to be compact, and 3/8" sockets are gonna give you that advantage. If you're not sure which one to get, consider buying both, but really you want the 3/8" for that flexibility.
