Should I Cover My Early Garden Plants or Leave Them Uncovered?

I got a bit too excited and planted my garden early here in Western New York. The weather is supposed to be in the mid 50s to high 40s for the next few days, with some rain expected. Should I keep my plants covered with a tarp, or is it okay to leave them uncovered?

I'm also in WNY and I’m not planning on covering my plants. I think they'll be fine in this kind of weather. Just keep an eye on them!

It's usually the frost or freezing temps that really harm the plants. If you're not close to those temperatures, you should be fine for a night or two. If you're worried, watering them in the afternoon can help, as moist soil retains more heat.

With temperatures around 40°F plus rain and wind, it might be better to cover them up just to be safe. Better to be cautious!
