I recently renovated my kitchen and chose an induction range and electric oven, but I still have an old gas hookup behind the range that's been capped off. The new drywall that's been put up covers any access to this hook-up, which might confuse future homeowners. I'm wondering if it's a good idea to cover the access point with a blank wall plate or leave it as is. What building codes should I follow for this? I like to plan ahead for future needs. Initially, I asked my contractor to install a wall plate there, but it ended up being forgotten. Now, I want to take care of it myself. Any advice?
