Should I DIY Caulking in My Apartment or Hire a Pro?

I've never used caulk before and I'm wondering if it's worth it to buy the necessary tools and attempt it myself or if I should just hire someone to do it. I live in an apartment and think it might take me about two to three hours. The cost of supplies would be about the same as hiring a pro, but I don't want to mess things up and regret it. What do you think?

Caulking is pretty straightforward! If you mess up, you can always scrape it off and start again. I'd suggest checking out some YouTube tutorials before diving in. You've got this!

Honestly, given you're in an apartment, have you thought about asking your maintenance team to take care of it? But if they haven't gotten back to you in months, then maybe give it a shot yourself. It really is one of the easier DIY projects out there once you get the hang of it.

Good point! I really don't want to wait any longer.

Yeah, definitely don’t wait forever! You can always give it a go.

Just get a decent caulk gun and a couple of tubes of caulk. It's not hard and practice makes perfect. If you're looking for a smooth finish, some masking tape can help keep things tidy. And definitely watch a couple of videos first; that’ll help a lot.

Also, make sure to choose the right type of caulk for the area you're working on!

Thanks for the tips! I'll make sure to get the right kind.
