Should I DIY or Hire a Pro for My Small Bathroom Sink Install?

I'm dealing with a bit of a mess in my small bathroom. The current vanity and sink are falling apart due to rotting wood, likely from humidity and a pesky leak under the sink. I've bought a new sink and vanity from Lowes, thinking I'd tackle the installation myself. But as I start measuring and planning, I'm feeling less sure of my DIY skills.

One major hurdle is the trim on the bathroom floor, which makes it tough to fit the new cabinet. I would likely need to cut out some of the back of the cabinet to make it work. Also, the pipes are leaking, and while I have some new parts, I don't have any plumbing experience, which adds to my anxiety. I'm wondering if it's better to just hire a professional for this job or if I can muster the courage and skills to do it myself. I'd love to hear any tips or advice you might have!

Definitely check out some DIY videos; they can really help you get a grasp on bathroom sink installations and plumbing. If you feel handy, you can tackle this! Just remember to use caulk to seal down the sink—just a dab on each corner works like a charm! Good luck!

Great tips! But do you have any advice for how to cut out the back of the cabinet to fit over the floor trim that's sticking out? Is it necessary to have the cabinet flush against the wall?
