I’ve done this myself on a few joists, and it’s quite manageable. One tip I found helpful was to add wood glue into the crack before jacking it up to secure it better. Using Timberlok structural wood screws instead of lag screws can really simplify the process too. Just be sure to check a few tutorials first!
