Should I Follow Up on the Contractor’s Estimate?

Last Wednesday, a fence contractor mentioned he'd have an estimate for me in a "day or two." It's been a bit longer, and I haven't received anything yet. Is it a good idea to reach out to him, or does this lack of communication seem unprofessional?

Always a good move to get multiple quotes! When you reach out, you could remind him you're collecting estimates. And about concrete, aim for at least two bags per post. It's pretty standard, but it never hurts to double-check!

It's a bit strong to call it unprofessional right off the bat. I’d suggest sending a quick follow-up message to check in. If he doesn’t respond after that, it might mean he’s not too interested in the job anyway.

Contractors are super busy, so it might help to send a casual text like, "Hey, I know you're swamped, but do you have an update on the estimate? We're eager to get started!" If there's still no reply, you might want to consider other options.
