Should I Get a Complete Metric Socket Set or Just the Missing Sizes?

I recently bought the Milwaukee chrome deep socket set (#48-22-9505) that includes sockets from 10mm to 19mm. Now I'm thinking about purchasing the missing sizes (6, 7, 8, 9, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24 mm) for about $75 from ACME. I don't often need them, but when I do, I have to dig out my Pittsburg 1/2 inch sockets from the shop. I like to take care of my tools and want this set to be part of my long-term collection. Ideally, I want a full metric socket set and consider passing my current set to a friend. Does Milwaukee offer a complete 3/8 deep socket set that goes from 6mm to 24mm? I'd prefer the Shockwave series, but chrome is okay too.

If you want a complete metric socket set, you might want to check out Tekton. They have a fantastic set that covers 6mm to 24mm with no skips for just $99, which is a solid balance of price and quality.

That does look like the most complete set out there, though it only goes up to 19mm. You might still find some options from Milwaukee, but that set is hard to beat for a full range!

Milwaukee likely doesn’t make a full 3/8” deep socket set up to 24mm. I’ve never really seen a 24mm in that size, to be honest. It all boils down to your budget and how important it is for you to have matching tools. Personally, I’d rather have a larger set of decent sockets rather than just a few high-end ones.
