Should I Get a Pole Saw Attachment or a Dedicated Pole Saw?

Hey everyone! I have the 60V string trimmer power head (DCST972) and I'm looking to get a pole saw for some tree maintenance. I'm debating whether I should go for the pole saw attachment (DWOAS6PS) or if it's better to buy a dedicated pole saw, like the 20V DCPS620B. I know the 620B is only 20V, but I'm not a professional arborist, so I think I might manage without the 60V. Also, I noticed the attachment only extends up to 8.9 feet, while the 620B can reach 15 feet. Any advice?

I've used both the 60V power head with the pole saw attachment and the 20V pole saw. Honestly, the 20V is nice without extensions, but it feels awkward and unbalanced with them, especially because of the heavy motor on top. The attachment with the 60V is more stable, but it’s definitely heavier overall. Personally, I prefer the 20V for short jobs but the 60V with extensions for larger tasks. Also, I’ve tried various attachments for the power head, and honestly, the Dewalt attachment felt flimsy. However, the Sunseeker articulating attachment was the best! It's made of solid aluminum and lets you angle the bar for better access, plus it's cheaper than the Dewalt one.

I’ve got a Poulan attachment, and it has worked pretty well for me!

If you already have the 60V power head, I'd recommend the attachment. It’s way better balanced than the 20V since you don't have that heavy motor at the top. The extra power really helps too!
