I'm using all M18 tools but have heard great things about the M12 stubby impact wrench. I'm not in a rush to buy one for a job, but I'd like it for occasional tasks like lug nut work and other projects where an electric wrench would be helpful. Should I go for the M12 stubby as a one-off, or should I stick with the M18 options? I'm also curious if I should wait for a new M18 stubby release.

I just got the M18 mid-torque as part of a tool combo, and honestly, it's way stronger than anything I need right now. But I totally get wanting the M12 stubby for its small size. If you’re not planning to tackle huge jobs and are okay investing in M12 batteries, the stubby could be a good fit for you.
The M12 stubby is pretty compact and works great for most jobs. The M18 mid-torque is slightly more powerful but won’t blow you away in terms of performance. If you already have M12 batteries, then the stubby is a nice choice. Otherwise, you might want to weigh buying batteries against getting a more powerful tool in the M18 line.
If you're leaning M12, the stubby has a fantastic reputation, especially the newer version. But if you're looking for more power later on, you might want to consider the M18 mid-torque. Plus, some retailers offer promotions where you can snag that mid-torque for free with battery purchases. Just something to think about!
