Should I Glue or Just Screw Down My Toilet Flange?

I recently worked on some plumbing with my dad who suggested that I shouldn't glue the toilet flange, only to screw it down because I hadn't finished the flooring yet. Now I'm reading conflicting info that says to both glue and screw it down. Am I completely confused, or is it really just a screw situation?

You definitely shouldn't glue the flange if it's plastic. Using glue (like PVC or ABS glue) could lock it in place, making any future adjustments tough. Just screw it down for now while you figure out the height and positioning for the toilet.

Focus on getting your flooring done first, then you can set the flange. You can do a dry fit of the toilet to see if everything's level before screwing or gluing it down!
