Should I Go for a 5″ or 6″ Random Orbital Sander?

I'm in the market for a new random orbital sander and can't decide between a 5-inch and a 6-inch model. I'm a hobbyist who enjoys working on fine furniture like dining tables, chairs, and desks during the weekends. I've been eyeing the Bosch GET75-6N because it lets you remove material quickly and also switch to ROS mode for finer sanding. My main concern is the size and weight of the 6-inch version. Have any of you ever regretted choosing the 6-inch sander? Would a 5-inch have been a better fit? I know the larger size saves time on big projects, but I'm worried it might be too clunky for smaller items.

Hey there, fellow hobbyist! I recently got the Bosch GEX 125 150 AVE, which lets you switch between 5" and 6" pads, and honestly, I recommend going for the 6". I switched to it once and haven't looked back since! It really covers more area and the difference in sandpaper costs isn't huge. They also say it stacks up well against some pricier brands.

Thanks! The GET75-6N is really tempting, especially with all the rave reviews. If it's not a good fit, I guess selling it won’t be hard!
