Should I Harvest My Green Tomatoes Before the Frost?

Hey everyone! I'm facing a frost advisory overnight, and I've got a bunch of unripe tomatoes on the vine. Should I harvest them now or just cover the plants to protect them? I really don't want to lose all these tomatoes! What do you think?

How cold is it supposed to get? If it's just for one night and it's not that cold, covering the plants might be enough. But if it's going to stay cold, then yeah, you should probably pick them.

It's forecasted to drop to the mid-30s overnight, but warm back up to the low 70s by tomorrow. Should I still be worried about picking?

If I were in your shoes, I'd definitely pick those tomatoes and let them ripen indoors. Better safe than sorry, right? You don't want to risk losing them to the frost!

Just throw a plastic sheet over them for the night! It'll help keep the frost off. If you do pick them, you can wrap each one in newspaper and store them in a cool place. They'll be fine and you can even make fried green tomatoes later!
