Should I Hold Off on My Final Roof Payment Until Repairs Are Made?

I got a new roof today from a reliable company, but they accidentally roofed over my kitchen vent and broke an antenna. They promised to fix these issues and maintain their workmanship warranty. However, I've heard so many stories here about people regretting making their final payment too soon. Would you feel comfortable making the final payment in this case, or would you wait until all repairs are completed?

It sounds like you've been quite patient, but I wouldn't pay just yet. You can respond positively by saying something like, "I appreciate your quick response and know that you’ll fix these issues. Once everything is done, I’ll happily make the final payment!" This way, they know you're waiting for full completion before you settle up, which can help keep things on track.

I wouldn’t make any payments until all issues are resolved. There’s no reason to hand over the final payment until you're completely satisfied with the work. It's all about keeping them accountable!

Definitely wait! If a job isn't finished properly, it’s smart to hang onto that final payment. Last year, I had a similar situation, and the financing company wouldn’t release payment until we confirmed everything was fine. It worked out well!

I agree with you—hold off on that payment! You’ve got to make sure everything’s correctly done before you pay. Sometimes, having that final payment looming can push a company to fix their mistakes faster.
