Should I Inform My Neighbor About Aphids in Their Flower Garden?

I often walk by a house with a beautiful flower garden right next to the sidewalk, and recently, I've noticed there are a lot of red aphids on the flower stems. I'm wondering if I should leave a note for the owner to let them know about the aphids. If I do decide to leave a note, what should I say to make it helpful and friendly?

Honestly, I doubt it matters much at this time of year. The garden season is winding down anyway, and aphids usually don't do serious harm; they often get eaten by other insects eventually. But if you do feel like mentioning it, just keep it light-hearted!

True! I leave them be in my garden since they usually balance out eventually. But a note could be well-received, so long as it’s not too pushy!

I personally don’t think I’d appreciate getting a note about that. It can come off as a bit critical, like someone pointing out that my mailbox is crooked. The garden season is already wrapping up, so it might not be worth it in the end.

I think it really depends on the neighbor. Some folks might appreciate being told, especially if they don't check their plants regularly. A little heads-up could help prevent a bigger issue later. Maybe just keep it friendly and straightforward!

Exactly! A simple note saying "Hey, I've noticed some aphids on your flowers—might want to take a look!" could be helpful without sounding too critical.

I wouldn’t mind a note at all, as long as it comes with some advice on what to use to get rid of them! Since it's nearly the end of the season, they might not care, but it doesn't hurt to let them know. Just be friendly!
