Hey everyone! We just bought a new house and are planning to paint everything with a color called Cheviot from Sherwin-Williams. Right now, the ceiling is a flat brown/tan, and I'm wondering if I should paint it the same color as the walls or if it's better to go with a classic bright white. What's the best approach here?

I think Cheviot might be a bit too tan for a ceiling. I usually recommend going with something like Swiss Coffee for both walls and ceiling. It's an off-white that looks great and keeps things bright! Also, be careful without crown molding; the transition might appear odd if you go with the same color.

That’s a good point. I’m not thrilled with Cheviot, so maybe a lighter ceiling will help brighten the space. I’ll check out Swiss Coffee, thanks!
