I recently bought a house and found some peeling drywall in the basement. I've already taken care of the loose paper and sanded the edges. Today, I applied Zinsser Gardz to seal everything. My next task is to skim the walls to even them out. After I'm done with that, do I need to apply Gardz again, or can I just go ahead with latex primer and paint?

Just to clarify, is the drywall sealer basically the same as primer? Also, are you saying you’d repeat the Gardz after skimming?
I’d suggest using the drywall sealer again after you skim it. It helps ensure everything is well-prepped before you move on to primer and paint.
