I totally get you! I’ve got old solid wood doors too, and trust me, finding a new door that matches in quality can be a pain. If it's solid wood, just go for the refinish! It's usually much more rewarding.
That looks like a solid wood door, and it's definitely worth keeping! Instead of sanding, you might want to try using a chemical paint stripper to strip the old paint off easily.
