Hey everyone! I'm in New England and have a healthy 30' Holly Tree with red berries right in the middle of my front yard. While I'm not really fond of it, I'm thinking about putting a flag pole there instead since it's a perfect spot. Would you all recommend cutting down the tree for the flag pole? I'd love to hear your personal opinions or any points to consider!

Consider if the flag pole has to be right in the middle of the yard, though. There might be other spots that would still look great without removing the tree. I've seen flags set up next to driveways that still look really nice and appealing!
I say go for it! If you don’t really love the tree and a flag pole would bring you more joy, then cutting it down could be a good idea. Just make sure to hire someone who's experienced, since taking down trees can be tricky and dangerous. You don’t want to risk doing it yourself if you're not comfortable with it!
Yeah, that makes sense. I think I need to get over my hesitation about cutting healthy trees if it makes my space nicer.

I thought about that! My property is lined with tall Pines and Oaks, so a pole there might not stand out as much.
