Should I Remove This Old Coax Utility Box?

Hi everyone! Our home hasn't been connected to coax since we bought it two years ago, and we use fiber for our Internet. I even watched the installation process myself. We also don't subscribe to any cable service. Is it alright to cut the coax lines and bury them?

I'd suggest keeping it if you don't have Ethernet in every room. You can use a MOCA adapter to get a wired Internet connection through coax, which can be simpler than running Ethernet wires directly.

True, but he could still cut the wire where it comes into the house if he really wanted.

That's really the best option! Just keep the coax in the walls. MOCA is a solid choice for wired Internet, and it works much better than most Wi-Fi setups.

Where I live, the cable company technically owns that coax and the box even if it's on my property. You're generally not allowed to cut or move it since it’s part of a utility easement. If you want it removed, you should call the cable company and ask them to take care of it.
