Should I Rent a Paint Sprayer for My Bedroom?

I'm looking to paint and primer my small bedroom, which is about 130 square feet, including the closet and trim. I know the primer can be sprayed, but for the painting, I'll still need to use a roller on the ceiling, trim, and some edges. Although I've painted plenty before, I've never used a sprayer. I understand there are safety gear requirements and that I'll need to clean the sprayer between coats as well as after I'm done. Plus, I would have to do extra masking for the windows, doorway, and furniture. Given all this, would using a paint sprayer actually save me time, or should I stick with my usual brushes and rollers?

I wouldn't go for the sprayer either. The prep work and the cleaning will take longer than just brushing and rolling. And if it's your first time using a sprayer, it might not turn out well right away.

Honestly, I'd just stick to a brush and roller for a small room like that. Spraying takes a ton of time to set up and mask everything off. Plus, the cleanup can be a hassle. You'll find it quicker overall just to roll it on!

Totally get that! Thanks for the advice!

Yeah, I didn't bust out my sprayer for a one-bedroom either last week for the same reasons.

No way, definitely not worth it for a room that size. You usually want to spray if you have a lot to cover. Plus, using a sprayer means you'll probably need extra paint just to cover the spray lines! Unless you're painting a spacious area, you might be better off with a roller.
