Should I Rent a Truck from Home Depot for Gravel or Just Get It Delivered?

I'm looking to haul 2 yards of gravel from a landscaping company and I'm considering renting a truck from Home Depot. I'm concerned about how they'll load the gravel and whether it might damage the truck. Is it a better option to just have the gravel delivered instead? I'm trying to save some money on this project.

Honestly, I highly recommend getting it delivered. Gravel’s pretty heavy, and delivery often doesn’t cost much more than a rental. It’ll save you a lot of hassle and potential damage to a rental truck.

Moving 2 yards of gravel can be a heavy load, around 5000-6000 lbs. Unless you’re planning to take multiple trips with a rental truck, I'd suggest going for delivery. Plus, I’ve heard that those trucks have weight sensors that can prevent you from shifting out of park if you're overloaded. That’d be a hassle you want to avoid!

Exactly! I used to see these issues all the time. It’s definitely better to let the pros handle the delivery.

Totally! Those sensors can be super sensitive. I’ve seen them go off just with a couple of people in the cab even if the cargo was fine!
